BROADCAST JOURNALISM

Video and audio reporting brings stories to life, capturing the emotions and voices behind each word. By immersing our audience in sound and movement, I create a storytelling experience that resonates on a deeper level.

MORGAN MAYHEW

To create my first podcast episode, I reached out to an MVHS alum who had gone on to become an animation producer, drawing inspiration from the popular Ologies podcast to craft an engaging and conversational format. To prepare, I researched her career path and the animation industry, ensuring I could ask thoughtful questions that would draw out her unique experiences and insights. Using my prior audio editing experience from working on soundtracks for our dance team, I meticulously edited the interview to create a polished and professional final product that was both informative and immersive.

STAFF VS. SPORTS TRIVIA

For a multimedia package about MVHS staff members' experiences with sports, my co-writer and I decided to create an entertaining video in which teachers and office staff answered sports trivia questions. We wrote and researched the questions ourselves, scheduled and filmed each interview, and I edited the final video to emphasize each participant’s personality and reactions. The result was a lighthearted piece that spotlighted our often-overlooked admin staff while offering a fun, engaging break from our usual video coverage.
