MAGAZINE PAGES

EL ESTOQUE VOL. 55

Pages from El Estoque, 2024-2025

For each issue of El Estoque's 55th volume, I tried to think outside the box in terms of creating strong designs with visual impact. My goal was to make an impression on anyone who happened to flip through our magazine, so as to draw more attention to the stories I covered.

A SLICE OF THE DISTRICT PIE

El Estoque News package, Sept. 2023

The first package I designed as a News Editor was about changes in local governance and how that was affecting community activism. We created photo-heavy spreads to emphasize the community voices we interviewed. Cohesive minimalistic red, black and blue/gray design elements across the entire package ensured it looked grounded and striking.

TRIUMPH ON DISPLAY

El Estoque News package, Feb. 2024

For the second package I designed as a News Editor, my section and I wanted to showcase the achievements of members of our community. We brought together staged & candid photography on minimalistic (but bold) pages to highlight the people we were celebrating.

EL ESTOQUE VOL. 54

Pages from El Estoque, 2023-2024

For each issue of El Estoque's 54th volume, I challenged myself to create unique designs using a variety of layouts and visuals to really emphasize the stories I shared with my community.

EL ESTOQUE VOL. 53

Pages from El Estoque, 2022-2023

I created a variety of different page designs across multiple sections during my first year on staff at El Estoque. Here are some of the highlights.

EFFLORESCENCE

La Pluma Vol. 4

For the fourth volume of La Pluma, our goal as an editor team was to recreate our school's literary magazine as a professional, polished publication, paving the way for future volumes. I created a Table of Contents and a staff list that were cohesive and elegant.
